No hospitals, pharmacies, medical facilities, or health-care professionals, or employees of hospitals, pharmacies, medical facilities, or health-care professionals, who object in writing, may be required to participate in or facilitate medical or surgical procedures that result in an abortion. In addition, no hospital may be required to admit a woman for the purpose of providing abortion care. (Enacted 1973; Last Amended 2003)

NY State prohibits abortions after 24 weeks, except in cases of life endangerment only.

Ban on Abortion: 1997. Abortions are illegal at 12 weeks, unless it is to preserve the mother's health. Should someone seek an abortion after 12 weeks, they can be fined up to $25,000, imprisoned for 2 years, or both.
